Sparsholt College Group is participating in the new government Kickstart initiative

 

 

What is the Kickstart Scheme?
It is a new scheme from the government for people aged 18 – 24, who are currently in receipt of Universal Credit and are at risk of long-term unemployment.  It offers a paid 6 months’ work experience placement.

How long with the Kickstart Scheme last?
Each placement lasts 6 months, with the Kickstart Scheme currently due to end in December 2021.

Each placement is for a minimum of 25 hours per week and for some placements we may be able to offer 37 hours per week.  Each placement will last for six months. We will provide any necessary PPE which is required.

What training support will you receive whilst on your Kickstart Placement?

In addition to on-the-job training and support from a 1-1 mentor you will also undertake the following training

  • Successful CV writing
  • How to write a successful cover letter
  • Interview techniques
  • How to present yourself at an interview – online/in person
  • How to job search
  • E-learning Packages relating to Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Cyber Security, Well-being.
