Level 3 Extended Diploma in Public and Uniformed Services

I decided while at school that a course in public and uniformed services was for me. I looked at local colleges and the Sparsholt course seemed really hands-on, with lots of opportunities for rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking and canoeing.

The social side of the course has been great too – you get to know your course mates so well and have a joke as well as your work. There is more freedom here than and school and you are treated like adults. Hiking trips in various weather – including snow – have been a good challenge and we have learnt lots of new skills. I’ve put 100% into everything and have got good results back.

The new sports hall is brilliant – the equipment is all up-to-date and the gym is really good. The tutors are friendly and we all work well together.

After my course I’m heading to university for a degree in Policing. I’ve chosen a course that isn’t purely exam-based as that suits the way I work, and am really looking forward to it.
