Future plans: recently started an apprenticeship at an estate in West Sussex owned by the Duke of Norfolk

“Sparsholt stood out to me as a number one college for gamekeeping. Some of my friends had also studied here and loved it.

One of my highlights was the second year study tour to Norfolk. We visited estates such as Sandringham and Hilborough. It was great to be shown around the Royal Estate and look at the grey partridge there.

I’ve recently started an apprenticeship at an estate in West Sussex owned by the Duke of Norfolk. I’d met the keeper before whilst on a visit with my course. It’s going really well – my main duties are snaring and trapping, using skills I’ve learnt from the lecturers at Sparsholt.

I’ve really loved every lesson I’ve gone into – they are all different. The lecturers have given us lots of contacts with estates throughout the year. The best part of the course for me was going out on practicals and meeting employers.

I would highly recommend Sparsholt. The friends I’ve made here will be friends for life.”
