Whether you’re looking for a fresh start in a new career, hoping to gain skills or support your the development of your staff, our Skills Bootcamps are here to help. Skills Bootcamps are free for individuals and 90% funded for SMEs through the Government’s National Skills Fund. Larger employers receive 70% funding. These flexible courses give people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and an offer of an interview with an employer upon completion.
Develop the knowledge and practical understanding to create greener, more sustainable towns and cities with our Skills Bootcamp in Urban Greening and Biodiversity. Designed for professionals and employers looking to enhance their environmental expertise, this course explores how nature can be successfully integrated into urban environments to support biodiversity, climate resilience, and healthier communities.
This structured programme combines expert-led teaching with real-world case studies. You’ll begin with an introductory session before progressing through weekly in-depth sessions that build your understanding of urban ecology and nature-based solutions.
Throughout the course, you will explore key concepts and frameworks that underpin urban greening, alongside the policies, legislation, and standards shaping green infrastructure in the UK. You’ll gain valuable insight into how to plan, design, and deliver nature-based solutions in urban spaces, balancing environmental benefits with commercial and community priorities.
The curriculum covers:
Commencing on Thursday 11th June with an introduction to the course (13:00 – 17:00), sessions will then be on consecutive Friday’s between 12th June – 25th July (09:30 – 16:30) with an additional session on Thursday 24th July (09:30 – 16:30).
