Level 2 Diploma in Forestry
I originally trained as a cabinet maker but was working in retail management and looking for a career change. This course ticked a lot of my boxes as well as being a good location and an easy commute. The application process was straightforward and all went very smoothly. I felt that the College provided good support in helping ensure the course was right for me and supporting me with the transition back into education.
I have enjoyed meeting new people at Sparsholt and gaining different skills, which are all very useful and good preparation for employment. The College staff have also been really helpful in advising me about career progression – they all have relevant industry skills and contacts. My work placement was spent on Leckford Estate which I really enjoyed.
I have now been accepted onto the Level 3 course, so will be staying on at Sparsholt for another two years. Longer term, I am now interested in possibly going on to study for a degree.
