What will I learn?

This workshop is for you if you’re a manager or co-ordinators of volunteers.
It will help you to provide an environment where volunteers will thrive whilst contributing effectively to the work of the organisation.

The day is suitable for both paid and voluntary managers of volunteers (inside the charity sector and outside of it), and provides a grounding in essential knowledge and skills.

You will learn how to:

  • articulate the reasons for involving volunteers
  • identify why people volunteer, and how you can draw on motivation theory to attract and retain volunteers
  • design attractive volunteer roles
  • promote your roles and recruit the right volunteers
  • induct volunteers into their roles
  • provide effective day-to-day support and direction for volunteers
  • recognise and reward the efforts of volunteers
