Sparsholt College, leading educator in specialist land-based industries and home to The National Zoo Academy, is encouraging prospective students to step outside the ordinary at their Open Day 17 November 2018, 10am – 2pm. The event provides the perfect opportunity to explore the industry-standard facilities and get a feel for courses by talking to current students and expert lecturers.

The team of lecturers’ unrivalled level of academic knowledge and their extensive industry contacts ensure they get the most out of their education introducing them to possible work placements and future prospective employers in sectors such as zoo management, agriculture, gamekeeping, conservation, outdoor education, fisheries, vet nursing, horticulture, football and forestry.

Students often progress from college courses to University Centre Sparsholt, taking their education to the next level with an undergraduate degree or a Master’s. Cameo an MSc Equine Behaviour, Performance and training student said: “After three brilliant years as a BSc (Hons) Equine Science student, when the MSc was mentioned to me, I couldn’t wait to start. I knew I had much more to learn and wanted to continue with my education, so what better place to do so than Sparsholt.”

On the day, lecturers from all subject areas as well as the apprenticeships, wellbeing, accommodation, finance and transport teams will be available to answer questions. Prospective students will also get the chance to tour the excellent facilities including The Animal Management Centre, now home to The National Zoo Academy as well as over 1,200 animals, the large Equine Centre and Accommodation. Walking tours and minibus tours will both be available on the day.
