What will I learn?

After this course, learners will

  • understand current data protection legislation and key definitions.
  • be able to describe what is personal data.
  • be able to describe the purpose of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • be able to describe the roles of a Data controller, a Data Processor, and a Data Protection Officer
  • understand the key principles of the GDPR.
  • understand organisational procedures concerning data.
  • be able to describe the procedures for recording, storing, and disposing of data.
  • be able to outline the security checks before releasing information.
  • understand the threats to Information Communication Technology ICT.
  • understand the common threats to ICT systems and data.
  • understand Ways to protect systems from these threats.
    * understand the consequences of not protecting data.

  • be able to describe the consequences of not protecting data.
  • be able to describe the consequences of employees sharing confidential business or customer data.
