What will I learn?

This course will help delegates to understand the behaviours and attitudes that affect the way people respond to each other, and as a result teaches the learner assertive and positive response techniques.

The one day programme will cover:

  • Identifying the constituents of an assertive style and differentiating between this and aggression
  • The different legislation that is relevant to assertiveness
  • The effects of non-assertive, assertive and aggressive behaviour
  • Using verbal and non-verbal skills to enhance assertive behaviour
  • Identifying situations where assertive behaviour is appropriate and choosing whether or not to use it

Clear strategies were taught and by the end of the course I felt that I had been given all the tools necessary to develop my assertiveness
