What will I learn?
This course will develop the skills of carers and Health Care Assistants, whether they are new to health and social care and the care industry, or wishing to develop further knowledge. It will teach the fundamental principles, core values and skills that health and care professionals adhere to in their daily working life.
The training has been designed with the non-regulated workforce in mind and will give learners the confidence to undertake their roles providing compassionate, safe and high quality care and support in their own particular workplace setting.

* Manual handling
* Basic life support
* Pressure area management
* Person centred care
* Communication skills
* Physiological measurements
A purpose-built classroom, ward, and simulation suite will be utilised to give learners a safe environment to learn and reflect upon experience.
Throughout the course, learners’ skills will be reviewed and feedback given to improve their practice. Learners will also complete reflective accounts and patient services users will also be able to give feedback.
Where will it lead me?
By the end of this course, carers will have acquired the fundamental skills to enable them to deliver holistic, patient centred care.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course and it is suitable both for those new to the health and social care industry as well as those seeking to refresh or deepen their knowledge.

Any fee remission information quoted is correct at the current time but is dependent on government legislation and is subject to change. Due to funding restrictions this course is not available to existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started/start their course.
