What will I learn?
After this course, learners will
* understand the role of thickening fluids and in managing dysphasia
* understand the role of the SALT team
* recognise the risk of aspiration and identify preventive measures
* understand the food first approach in managing nutritional needs
* understand the MUST assessment tool for identifying individuals at risk of malnutrition
* understand Braden Scale/Waterlow score and being able to effectively assess the risk of pressure ulcers
* have an understanding of health promotion and signposting
Training can be delivered either in our state of the art training ward at Andover College or at the client’s premises. The course content can be amended to take account of the client’s specific training needs.
