Stoma Care

What will I learn?

During this course learners will learn the significance of caring for stomas, infection control, understanding the reasons behind someone needing a stoma, and learning how to address complications if they arise. They will gain skills in fitting and removing stoma bags while utilising communication skills with dignity and respect. The importance of maintaining accurate records will also be covered

Training can be delivered either in our state of the art training ward at Andover College or at the client’s premises. The course content can be amended to take account of the client’s specific training needs.

Due to funding restrictions this course is not available to existing full time Sparsholt College/Andover College students aged 16, 17 or 18 (or 19-24 with an EHCP) on the 31/8 in the year they started/start their course.
