Suctioning for Health and Social Care Professionals

What will I learn?

During this course learners will learn

* Basic respiratory and oxygen exchange
* The function of secretions
* How to clear secretions using oral/nasal suction
* How to recognise when oxygen should be used
* about oxygen saturation levels
* The risks of using oxygen
* What a tracheostomy is
* Tracheostomy Care
* Risks factors of tracheostomies
* The importance of good record keeping

Training can be delivered either in our state of the art training ward at Andover College or at the client’s premises. The course content can be amended to take account of the client’s specific training needs.
