A Foundations Studies Programme course is great way for students with support needs to develop the confidence and social skills that will help them progress to further learning or independent living.
You will develop your vocational knowledge and understanding in a quiet, rural learning environment in small groups with the support of fully qualified, experience staff.
Entry requirements: GCSEs at grade D-F or an entry-level 3 course.
A Level 1 Diploma is a great entry point for students wishing to prepare themselves for work. Your course will help you develop a wide range of practical and employment skills. By learning in a realistic environment, you will gain the confidence to progress further in education or straight into employment.
Completing a Level 1 Diploma could lead you to a Level 2 Diploma in a related subject or a Level 2 Apprenticeship.
Entry requirements: Four GCSEs at grade D or above or a Level 1 qualification.
You may have already completed a Level 1 Diploma at Sparsholt in which case a Level 2 Diploma is a natural choice for progressing your education with us. You will further develop the skills and knowledge you have gained to prepare you for employment.
If you are new to Sparsholt, a Level 2 Diploma is an ideal starting point if you are not yet ready to tackle a Level 3 Diploma but wish to gain as much practical experience and knowledge as possible to ready yourself for progression in education or employment.
Completing a Level 2 Diploma could lead you to a Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma or a Level 2 Apprenticeship. You may also choose to progress straight into employment with the skills you have developed.
Entry requirements: Five (Extended Diploma) or four (Diploma) GCSEs at grade C or a Level 2 qualification at merit or above.
With your Level 2 Diploma from Sparsholt under your wing, you will hopefully have developed the skills, knowledge and confidence to progress to a Level 3 course. The Level 3 Diploma is a one year course and the Extended Diploma is a two year course.
Level 3 courses are a great alternative to A Levels for school leavers who have received strong grades in their GCSEs. Your level of ability will allow you to master the basics of your chosen industry quickly, progressing on to developing skills and understanding that will help you study at Undergraduate level or move confidently into employment.
Completing a Level 3 Extended Diploma will enable you to apply for FdSc and BSc Degree courses in related subject.
A Foundation Degree is a Level 5 qualification with a vocational focus, usually completed in two years full-time or three-years part-time. Your FdSc will equip you with skills and knowledge relevant to employment.
