SOPHIE
Uniformed Protective Services

We have really good facilities and visits here and the tutors get everyone involved.

I’m Sophie, I do a Protective Services course at Sparsholt College.

I came to Sparsholt to make new friends, and also because I want to be part of the Police Force as a Dog Handler. Sso coming here gave me lots of opportunities and chances to learn about different parts of the services.

I’ve really enjoyed Sparsholt! The facilities here are amazing compared to any other college that I looked at, and you’re always being given lots of different opportunities with people from industry coming in and talking to us.

We have really good facilities here such as the climbing wall, we have a range of mountain bikes and kayaks, we’ve got our own gym which we’ll get free memberships for – so it’s all-inclusive. We’ve also been off site to do things like mountain biking.

We had the RAF and all different areas within the army come in and speak to us and gave us ideas of different career paths within the army. We’ve also had a police recruitment officer come in and discuss the recruitment process there.

All of the tutors are really approachable, and they try and get you engaged in everything that we do. They’ve got a really relaxed approach and they just keep everyone always included – so it’s not just what one person wants or the other person it’s everyone. There’s a really good balance to having practical lessons and being sat in a classroom.

I would 100% recommend Sparsholt! It’s an amazing college, and all of the teachers in every department are just so welcoming and friendly. You get a chance to make friends from all over the place, and they have the best facilities in my opinion than any other college that I looked at.
