Sparsholt College is celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2019 from 4 to 8 March by showcasing the strength of their apprenticeships at their upcoming Open Day on Saturday 9 March 2019, 10am – 2pm. Providing valuable insight into how apprenticeships benefit learners, employers and the economy.

The College will have their team of Apprenticeship Liaison Officers on hand to answer any questions, give advice about finding a role and how apprenticeships work and go through current vacancies. Visitors will also get the chance to receive CV and interview tips.

The Open Day is also a great chance for those looking to explore full and part-time courses and degrees. Whether a school leaver looking to develop advanced technical skills in the many land-based careers, or someone ready to undertake a degree at Foundation, Undergraduate or Master’s level, Sparsholt College and University Centre Sparsholt have a renowned reputation.

Amanda, a current Environmental Conservation apprentice at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, said: “The Trust have a number of sites allowing us to work in different environments every day and have great links to other organisations and conservation trusts. I would recommend this apprenticeship without hesitation.”

Jamie, Solent & Isle of Wight Reserves Manager at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, said “It has been a wonderful experience watching young people develop during their apprenticeships. The combination of on-the-job training, academic studies and external training creates a skilled staff member.”

Supporting this, research shows that 90% of those who completed an apprenticeship secured a job or went on to further learning and nearly three quarters of apprentices agreed their chances of earning a higher wage in the future had increased.

To explore your options and see the campus for yourself, come along to the Open Day on Saturday 9 March 2019, 10am – 2pm.
