Student Story
"My highlight has been the offsite practical days where we work in very similar conditions to industry, which helps boost working and further life out of college."
Brad, Arboriculture, Forestry and Woodland ManagementThe management of trees and woodland is critically important for the sustainable development of our countryside, urban spaces, leisure pursuits and for conservation.
Using a combination of on and off-site facilities, we provide training for the people who will manage and work in our forestry industries for timber production as well as those who look after and manage individual trees in parks, streets and private gardens. Learning from experts in the field, our students will acquire all the practical and scientific skills to work in the industry or to study at an advanced level.
Our students enjoy access to key NPTC and City & Guilds short courses required by the industry which are delivered both on and off-site – giving them a head start in employment.
“I have a wide variety of industry relevant experience in a range of positions, starting as a climbing arborist prior to spending 18 years as a planning based arboricultural officer. I have a passion to inspire learners to reach their full potential here at college and in the diverse and varied industry of forestry and arboriculture.”
